Charlie Rangel is found guilty. So what?

Charlie Rangel has been found guilty of 11 counts of violating House ethic's rules.  Is anyone out there honestly holding their breath that the findings will result in anything meaningful?

Back in 2006, Nancy Pelosi said she only needed 100 hours to begin to "drain the swamp".  Four years later the swamp stinks to high Heaven and the muck has taken over our government.  Further, the soon to be former Speaker of the House is in a pissing match with the Congressional Black Caucus and can ill afford to risk fanning the flames by agreeing to any serious sanctions against Rangel, the longest serving African American in the House.

Rangel deserves to be bounced, but it won't happen.  He will walk away from this with a mere "tsk, tsk".  In just short of two weeks we will see Act II when the committee meets to replay the charade over Rep. Maxine Waters.  This is DC at its worst.

By the by, Stacy McCain shows his age (and mine).
