It has only been two days and already I've got my answer

No, they can't hear us now.  Threy, of course, is "THE PARTY".  They can't hear us because they are standing around with their fingers shoved in their ears screaming, "I know best."

Former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott put it plainly: “We did not nominate our strongest candidates.”

We who? I get the feeling that Lott isn’t talking about “THE PARTY” when he says “we”. I get the feeling he doesn’t think you or I are smart enough to pick our own candidates. Lott isn’t alone:

Another high-profile senator went even further, placing the blame for the Senate GOP’s failure squarely at the feet of Graham’s South Carolina colleague, DeMint.

This Republican senator said that the tea party was the “big winner” by helping bring enormous energy behind GOP candidates Tuesday, but he said that “Sen. DeMint was the big loser.”

“It’s like you’re on the five-yard line ready to score and the quarterback calls the play and some member of your team tackles one of your members and keeps you from scoring,” the senator said. “We came tantalizingly close to a majority.”

“I’m completely mystified by it,” the senator said of DeMint’s tactics.

The senator credited House Speaker-in-waiting John Boehner for keeping House Republicans unified behind a common purpose but he said that DeMint took a selfish path that hurt the party’s common cause.

I admit I am completely mystified by “THE PARTY”. It seems that they couldn’t care less whether the Senate is filled with a hundred Arlen Specters so long as they each have an (R) after their names. “THE PARTY” doesn’t care how they vote, doesn’t care what they stand for. It doesn’t matter to them. Those of us that it does matter to are rubes, too ignorant to understand the “right” way to do things.

Shove it. One Marco Rubio is worth more than all the “PARTY” boys combined. In Marco’s victory speech he said that Republicans are being given a second chance. Well listen up, “THE PARTY” is blowing that second chance straight out of the gate.

Yep, some Tea Party candidates lost Tuesday. What would have happened had they gotten even a little support from “THE PARTY”? They might have still lost but at least we, the voters, would have felt like our party was listening to us.

“THE PARTY” acts like we are their personal fire hydrant. So fine, let them lift their legs and send forth a golden stream. But when they slip in their own piss and land on their asses they needn’t call out for a cleanup on aisle nine. They can sit there and wallow in it.

Kerry, Lieberman and Graham, Oh, My!

Despite the fact that every day the false prophets of Global Warming are confronted with the evidence of their duplicity, they still have a friend in John Kerry:

"Senators Kerry, Graham, and Lieberman will unveil their proposal later this month," Kerry spokeswoman Whitney Smith said, adding Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was "committed to making this Congress the one that finally passes comprehensive energy and climate legislation."

… Electric utilities would be the first sector to have pollution controls imposed -- starting in 2012 -- through a "cap and trade" system to bring down carbon emissions with required permits that would be traded in a regulated market.

Factories would join the pollution-reduction system in 2016, industry and environmental sources have been told.

A third sector, transportation, would see a tax levied on refined oil products, a Senate source told Reuters last week, with the expectation it would be passed on to consumers when they buy gasoline and other fuel products.

Well, this must mean that by 2012 all of our economic woes will have been solved. Why else would Kerry, Graham and Lieberman be working on legislation that will by design increase to energy costs to every single American? Think about it, not only would it cost more to heat and cool our homes, and drive our cars, but every good and service that we consume would cost more as well. This comes at the same time that our government is kicking around the idea of instituting a VAT. Perhaps, Sen. Kerry should ask his chauffer what a gallon of gas costs these days, though, I doubt the skyrocketing cost of fuel has the same impact on Kerry as it does the rest of us.

Unlike the politicians who enact legislation based on nothing more than their personal, often skewed vision, any increase in the cost of fuel, electricity, food, etc., has an enormous impact on American families. We simply cannot afford to continue funding Washington’s pet projects.

Congress has just gone through one bruising fight. Are they ready for another one?

It Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy

Gee, it can't be a good thing when a picture of a tipped tank is used to illustrate a politician's career, but hey, in this case, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

According to FitNews.Com Sen. Lindsey Graham's popularity is tanking in South Carolina. He's not only losing the confidence of Republican voters, he's also in a freefall with the all important Independent voters. Pardon me for a moment while I snicker.

Graham served in the House from 1995 to 2003 when he moved on to the Senate. At some point during the last fourteen years he decided as an incumbent he was a) in like Flynn and as a result b) his constituents could go to Hell. Apparently, his constituents disagree.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham’s public support is collapsing in South Carolina – driven by a wholesale revolt among the GOP electorate and a steady erosion of his support amongst independents.

Already consistently loathed by a solid third of GOP voters, Graham’s recent leftward bent – including his co-authoring of a controversial “Cap & Tax” proposal supported by President Barack Obama and liberal Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) – has him locked in a “terminal free fall,” according one prominent Republican consultant.

“A chunk of the GOP has always detested him, but in the last month a damn has broken,” said the consultant, who was granted anonymity to discuss the impact of two recent polls that were conducted in South Carolina (one allegedly by Graham’s own advisors). “More Republicans now oppose Sen. Graham than support him. Independents are also deserting him in huge numbers.”

So who is backing Graham? According to FITS, he's being back by the Truman National Security Project a liberal front group aimed at training “progressives” in their efforts to co-opt the debate over national security, which is typically one of the GOP’s bread-and-butter issues.

What a coincidence. Charlie Crist, who Graham endorsed, also has "progressive" donors. Usually, people donate to a candidate because the donor and the candidate share an ideology. Sometimes the donor expects something from the candidate in return. And, of course, sometimes the donor and the candidate share an ideology AND the donor believes that they will receive something in return. I smell RINO.

Just recently I've taken to including a small picture of pink flip flops to symbolize Crist on my posts relating to him. My bet is that Graham will be doing a flip flop of his own soon. Maybe I can find a green pair for Graham to symbolize his support for Cap & Trade.
