Can We Cut the Racist Crap?

What is with the Left and this racist crap? Honestly, I'm over it. It seems that no matter what any Conservative does or says everything boils down to race as far as the Moonbats are concerned.

Well here we go again. Sarah Palin is a racist because her co-author Lynn Vincent is a racist because she co-wrote a book with Stacy McCain who everybody knows is a racist. Thursday night I hugged Stacy McCain so I'm a racist. Done deal.

Not so much. Ben Smith concludes that, well actually, Lynn Vincent isn't a racist but he left the accusation against Stacy hang out there. Why? Is it too difficult for a reporter of Smith's stature to investigate accusations prior to printing them?

Stacy had this to say about this tripe:

One of the things I have sought to avoid over the years is the "some of my best friends" defense. If my friends are aware of these attacks, they will defend me. If they are unaware of the attacks, it would be wrong to involve them in a dispute that is not of their concern. My enemies are my enemies, and I would do my friends no favors by siccing my enemies on them, so as to expose my friends to these guilt-by-association attacks.
Stacy treated me like a friend long before we met Thursday night so I'm going to put this in real simple terms: jump off.

Anybody who has a problem with Conservative values man up and debate those values. I defy anyone to show anything about our values that are racist in anyway. But I'll tell you this, there is plenty that is racist about "progressive" values. So stop the projecting.

Incidentally, Smith wrote this:

*UPDATE: Edited for clarity. And McCain disputes his critics' characterization of his views on race.

Mighty white of him.

No She Did Not!

To help you understand this I’m going to give you a visual. Think of a little girl, all red in the face, hands on her hips and stomping her little foot. Got it? Okay, now put it together with this:

Hilarious: HuffPo Says Sarah Palin Had No Authority To Write An Op-Ed In The Washington Post

The little girl’s name is Art Brodsky and she is throwing a hissy fit because Sarah Palin wrote an op-ed on Cap and Tax and The Washington Post published it. Except she (Brodsky) doesn’t think that she (Palin) wrote it and even if she (Palin) did write it, they (The Post) shouldn’t have posted it. According to Brodsky, WaPo already carries “conservative” opinion and by way of example cites Kathleen Parker. Seriously.

The only one I can think of is to "get people talking" about the Post page. To create "buzz." Well, there's good "buzz" and bad "buzz." This is definitely the latter. It's not only that Palin has no constituency to speak of. It's not even that she has been trashed by the right, in addition to criticism by the left. She has no authority to write an article like this and the Post has no business running one.

I’m not sure what our Sarah does that makes the little girls so crazy but whatever it is, she does it well. If I may be so bold, maybe they should take a ‘time out.’

The Crazies Come Out

As we watch what could well be the beginning of a revolution in Iran many in this country, myself included, can not fathom the response, lack of response actually by our own government. Iran, freed from the suppression of the theocracy and its front man Ahmadinejad, could be a powerful ally to the United States in the region. Think of how the dynamics in the Middle East would change should Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel and the United States found themselves on the same page. That may sound like a pipedream but the only way to know for sure is to support the Iranians in the streets.

Along comes the Left to use this situation to advance their own interests and the hundreds of thousands of peaceful protesters in Iran be damned. William A. Jacobson:

Sullivan's post, The Khamenei-NeoCon Agreement, is the latest in his recurring conspiracy theory that supporters of freedom for Iranians are actually against freedom for Iranians.

What passes as conventional wisdom on the Left says that neo-cons in the United States are supporting the protesters knowing that continued demonstrations will result in a brutal crackdown by Ahmadinejad. In theory, the neo-cons will use the brutality as an excuse to attack Iran.

We may have a new administration in town but the Derangement Syndrome hasn’t changed. Moe Lane writes:

*The stages go like this:

Stage One: Well, that’s odd. A tentative foray into what may be in fact not conspiracy thinking, but merely heretical scholarship. Many respectable scholars flirt with this stage, and some seem to delight in flaunting their embrace of it; their more staid colleagues are usually indulgent.

Stage Two: Embracing the Crazy. This is full-bore crank territory, and is typically accompanied by more enthusiasm than rationality. Sufferers are usually disliked for it inside their field, but are often not particularly discriminated against outside of it.

Stage Three: It’s all because of the Jews. Irreversible. Incurable. At absolute best, rather sad.

The response in the US to the events in Iran point to the fundamental differences between the Right and Left. The Right sees this as an opportunity to advance freedom in the Middle East. The Left sees it as an opportunity to take a swipe at Conservatives.
