ACORN Shutting Down as Much as Forty Percent of Its Offices-It Is Not Enough

The LA Times is reporting that ACORN scaling back or shutting down in many cities:

The community activist group is taking no new clients while it investigates its operations, which have been dragged down by the poor economy and recent scandals.

While ACORN certainly has been the subject of recent scandals, ACORN has a long history of scandal and mismanagement. Aside from participating in voter fraud in dozens of states, there is that little matter of the million dollar embezzlement that the brother of ACORN’s founder Wade Rathke committed:

"It comes as no surprise that ACORN founder and chief organizer Wade Rathke hid his brother's embezzlement of nearly $1 million dollars from the 'charitable' organization's employees, board of directors, and donors. This is just one more page in ACORN's corrupt history, which already includes election fraud investigations in at least a dozen states, hypocritical and oppressive employment practices, and a political agenda driven by a handful of anti-corporate activists. …”

Further adding to ACORN’s ill repute is the fact that Rathke is a co-founder of the SEIU whose own shaky reputation makes it a perfect fit for ACORN. Any talk of ACORN and SEIU is not complete without including Pres. Barack Obama:

Dale Rathke embezzled money from ACORN totaling about $950k. Apparently, commitments have been made to return about $210k, for a total of $740k still missing.

Barack Obama's campaign paid ACORN, via a political consulting affiliate, $830k, but ACORN says that they only received $80, leaving $750k unaccounted for.

Dale Rathke embezzled this money in the period of 1999-2000, when Barack Obama was running for US Congress with the backing of SEIU Local 880 and ACORN. SEIU Local 880 is basically ACORN controlled. Rathke even filed the LM-2 form with the Department of Labor in 2000, signing it as "Treasurer", which I have previously written about.

Obama, ACORN, SEIU 880, and Rep. Danny Davis, appeared to act together in a number of local political engagements.

According to the Time’s report, as many as 40% of ACORN’s offices are closing their door’s. On the 18th, Donald Douglas reported at American Power that is local Orange County ACORN had shut down over night.

After years of corruption perpetrated against taxpayers while funded by taxpayers, it is gratifying to see some measure of justice served. However, ACORN’s tentacles are far spread and the taxpayer’s in this country will not be protected until everyone of those tentacles have been cut off.

No outrage that an organization is committing fraud on the taxpayer’s dime. Child prostitution? Not worth mentioning. Has the entire Left taken complete leave of their morals as well as their minds? Are we to understand that the Left is okay with the numerous instances of lawlessness depicted on the tapes?

Apparently the Left has ‘evolved’ beyond the lowly concepts of right and wrong. In Progressiveville, has shame become passé.

Those of us who still exists on a more earthly plain are shocked by the behavior we’ve seen on the ACCORN tapes. In our little corner, crime and punishment still exists. So, let the Left ignore or spin the ACCORN story. We won’t and I promise you, we will push this story wherever it leads.

Kudos to Jon Stewart, who doesn’t sugar-coat the embarrassment at all — to the apparent delight of his audience, who get kudos of their own. How can the national news media ignore the many allegations of corruption at ACORN, which gets millions of dollars in federal funding, and allow a couple of independents with $3,000 and a bad wardrobe scoop them on the undercover story of the year? It’s easy when newsrooms are more concerned with political direction than truth. Stick around to the end, when Stewart zings Michelle Malkin haters.

This is why recent poll respondents named Jon Stewart more trustworthy than Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and Brian Williams. Mainstream news is dead.

Obama Supporting State's Attorney Want To Prosecute The Film Makers, NOT The Scum ACORN Employees

STATEMENT OF STATE’S ATTORNEYS OFFICE FOR BALTIMORE CITY RELATIVE TO THE ALLEGED BALTIMORE ACORN INCIDENT Baltimore, MD – September 11, 2009 – We have received inquiries from citizens and the media asking whether the Baltimore City State’s Attorneys Office would initiate a criminal investigation for acts allegedly committed at ACORN offices located in Baltimore. The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video. Upon review by this office, the video appears to be incomplete. In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402,
which requires two party consent.If it is determined that the audio portion now
being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland
Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The
penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony
punishable up to 5 years.(Makes the case for prosecuting the filmaker, not the
crimes in the video)

Unbelievable. The post does a wonderful job of outlining State's Attorney for Baltimore City Patricia Jessamy's ties to Obama. Of course, we all know that The One and ACORN are best buds. Is that the reason that Jessamy has this case ass backwards? Stinks to high Heaven!

Disabled Woman Assaulted Health Care Town Hall

A handicapped woman is physically assaulted at a town hall by Acorn/union thugs and yet there are no arrests and no MSM coverage. The woman, Kimberly King, had been positioned by police close to the dais at a town hall held in Alhambra. The meeting was scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. but was delayed until 7:00 p.m. Ms. King, who requires a walker, was assisted by a friend to the ladies room at about 5:30. When she returned to her seat, several women carrying ACORN signs were blocking her seat. Both she and her husband asked the women to allow her back to her seat but they refused. King tried to shove her way past the women when one of them stomped on her foot.

It is inconceivable that anyone would assault a woman wearing a neck brace and using a walker. That a disabled person would be attacked at a health care meeting is beyond ironic.

Patriots Stand Up

Freedoms, Petitions, Assembly
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They aren’t use to Conservatives exercising the First Amendment rights given to us by our Founders. They aren’t used to seeing Conservatives standing on the streets. They believe that the First Amendment is the property of Code Pink, Anarchists, Anti-war protesters and Acorn. They are the Left and they are wrong.



Conservatives have awakened. We see threat to our free market system. We see the threat to our health care. We see the very real threat to our freedom . They can label us radicals. They can label as terrorists. But they can not back us down.

Of Cronyism and Consolidation

Guest writing at Left Coast Rebel, New Conservative Generation sums up ObamaLand in a single word: Cronyism.

Every single thing that Obama has done since taking office has been orchestrated to satisfy the two main goals of his administration; consolidate power under his command and control and reward his tools.

Obama has consolidated power by appointing an unprecedented number of “czars” who take their orders, and answer to no one but the Big O himself. This Merry Band of Miscreants includes those who “skirt the law” and at least one Mad Scientist and none who have ever been confirmed.

But back to the citations of cronyism:

In February, Congress passed and Obama wrote into law his stimulus plan making ACORN eligible for billions of taxpayer money. Surely, this is not cronyism. Then in March, he decided to partner with ACORN to conduct the census. Apparently, having 14 voter fraud investigations is still within Obama’s definition of responsible and cannot be considered cronyism.

In April, Obama turned the rule of law on its head and rushed a bankruptcy proceeding on behalf of Chrysler that placed the UAW, not the autoworkers, over the interests of the company bondholders. The word cronyism comes to mind.

In June, Obama fired Inspector General Walpin as he was closing in on an investigation tying Obama supporter Kevin Johnson to fraudulent use of AmeriCorps funds. One might call this act cronyism. Perhaps this was a new form of executive accountability?

In July, Obama announced his new financial regulations to mitigate the likelihood of future bank failures. Obama was originally considering the notion of breaking up some of the country's largest financial institutions, but changed his mind. Or shall I say, GE Capital changed his mind for him. If you didn't know, GE owns MSNBC. Can anyone say, “Cronyism?”

Obama supporters claim that it “has only been five months” and we need to give Obama “time”. Time to do what?
