And this poll was conducted by people who actually like Obama

Troglopundit:

The other fifty-two percent were anxious to get back to SpongeBob before the commercial break ended

Poll:

Forty-eight percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday say Obama’s presidency has been a failure so far.

Sounds like when Obama gave himself a solid B+ he was grading on the curve.

David Broder: President of the Janet Napolitano Fan Club

I came back from mini vacation to Largo on an emotional high. I can’t think of a better way to recharge and regroup than spending time with dear friends. Kara and Damon were incredible hosts and even though it had been over two decades since we had seen each other, we picked up right where we left off. Then I had my “Earth to Carolyn” moment.

It came as no surprise to anyone who knows her that Napolitano handled the incident and its aftermath with aplomb. In the years I have known her, she has managed every challenge that has come her way with the same calm command that she showed in this instance. If there is anyone in the administration who embodies President Obama's preference for quiet competence with "no drama," it is Janet Napolitano.
Is David Broder serious? He’s talking about Janet “the system worked” Napolitano, right?

…She is being criticized for saying "the system worked," but her part of the response system did work.

It must have been a frantic time for her. She was in San Francisco, far from her Washington office, and she must have had a sleepless night. But her eyes were bright, and her voice was calm. Everything appeared to be completely normal, except that her usual sense of humor was absent, as it should have been, given the circumstances.
her part of the response system did work. In what possible way? Does Broder believe that the Department of Homeland Security is an after the fact agency? If that is the case we should rename the agency the Department of Homeland Janitorial Services. However, I think most American would prefer that a security agency prevent terrorist attacks, not come in after the attack and clean up the mess left behind.

Broder defends Napolitano’s dismal performance on television immediately after the attack by saying that she “refused to speculate…”. There was nothing to speculate about. The government had known about the Underpants Bomber for months prior to the attack. What Napolitano did was attempt to spin the attack in such a way that the American people would not find out that our government failed at their prime directive to keep this country’s citizens safe.

Our government failed but they got lucky. The Underpants Bomber was every bit as incompetent at his mission as Janet Napolitano was at her’s. We can’t count on luck. The American people need confidence that their government is looking out for them and when there is a failure that the government will deal with the failure in an upright and honest manner.
We did not get honesty or competence from Janet Napolitano. Broder is not looking at the situation with a critical eye. He is acting like a White House hack.

India's Prime Minister was Teaching but was Obama Learning?

Doug Ross:

The Calcutta Telegraph offers a compelling and detailed view into the diplomatic machinations of Copenhagen. We're forced to turn to India's media outlets because state-run media in the United States continues to ignore the week's biggest stories from the climate summit (e.g., "Obama snubbed by Chinese premier at meeting", Economic Times of India).

In a last ditch effort to salvage a deal, Obama walked into a room unannounced where the leaders of China, India, Brazil and South Africa were meeting.

When Obama entered the room, there was no chair for him. Obama himself was reported as saying that there weren’t any seats......At the “accidental” five- nation meeting, Prime Minister Singh told Obama that international review of voluntary mitigation action was unacceptable as he was answerable to Parliament. Any international review of India’s voluntary mitigation actions would go against public opinion, he said.Wen also had similar views, while Lula voiced concerns over imposition of trade barriers on developing countries under the garb of environment protection... The group stuck to its stand on review of voluntary mitigation action, which it said would be an intrusion on members’ sovereignty.
In short, India's prime minister gave Obama the "Acting Presidential 101" class: leaders of democracies are accountable to the people.
It is a shame that leader of the free world needs to be schooled by the Prime Minister of India. You would think it self evident that politicians are accountable to the people who elected them. But accountability doesn't appear to be one of Obama's strong points and I've seen no indication that he gives a flip about the will of the people.

We could have avoided all of this had so many people not have been willing to elect a complete unknown who had never done or accomplished anything simply because they believed that his election would be "historic". They may in the end be right, but for all the wrong reasons.

A B+? What's He Smoking?

Obama tells Oprah that he gives himself a B+ for his first year as president. Let's review. In his first year he has added more to our national debt than all previous presidents combined. The "stimulus" hasn't stimulated a thing and the eight percent unemployment he said we would hit if he didn't get his way is now ten percent.

I give him credit for finally making a decision on Afghanistan but he left our troops hanging forever before deciding to give his generals less than they asked for.

Obama claims that we have made progress at halting Iran and N. Korea's development. Citation, please Mr. President. From where I stand, all of President Obama's "pretty pleases" have resulted in a resounding "pound sand."

Unbelievably, the president claims that passing health care reform will raise his grade to an A-. Puppy please. Fifty-six percent of Americans are against ObamaCare.

Consider the current Rassmussen daily tracking poll. Forty-four percent of the population somewhat approve of the president while forty-two percent strongly disapprove and overall, fifty-five percent disapprove.

Doesn't sound like a B+ to me.

So How's That Carbon Emissions Thing Working Out?

For all those whiney fascist Greenies who want to impose their delusional world view on the rest of us, may I just say, suck on this:

Washington, D.C.-During a hearing today in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, EPA Administrator Jackson confirmed an EPA analysis showing that unilateral U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions would have no effect on climate. Moreover, when presented with an EPA chart depicting that outcome, Energy Secretary Steven Chu said he disagreed with EPA's analysis.

So what’s Plan B for taking over the World?
