Pop quiz. When President Barak Hussein Obama said, "If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world" was it:
A. Pandering
B. Lying
C. Wishful thinking
D. All of the above
Whether the President was talking about Muslims as a percentage of the population or he was referring to the actual number of Muslims in the United States, Obama wasn’t merely wrong; he was off in Whopper Land wrong. There are between 5 and 8 million Muslims in the United States, representing less than three percent of the country’s population. Contrast this comment with his comment during a speech in Ankara, Turkey, "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation...” Vast numbers of Americans absolutely do consider this to be a Christian nation, yet the President downplays our Christianity and then exaggerates the Muslim influence on the country.
The President is embarking on the latest leg of the Barack World Wide Apology tour. He will be speaking in Cairo on Thursday. If the purpose of making such a ridiculous statement was to ‘warm up’ his audience I’d suggest he find a more honest, and less offensive, approach.
