So what moved Rep. Jim Matheson from a solid no on health care to a squishy we'll see? How's this for a "coincidence":
Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
So much for transparency and ethics from this administration. Beyond that, how full of himself does Obama have to be and how little must he think of the voters to pull this kind of stunt? Pelosi famously said that the Dems were going to "drain the swamp". Well, it has become a sewer and it is stinking up the whole country.
UPDATE:
Fuzzyslippers has posted at Potluck that Michelle Bachman is calling for an investigation of the White House for bribery.
UPDATE II:
Thanks to Clifford over at Antoher Black Conservative I've got the list of the ten reps. called to the White House by Obama:
Jason Altmire (PA)
Allen Boyd (FL)
Lincoln Davis (TN)
Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin (SD)
Frank Kratovil (MD)
Edward Markey (CO)
Jim Matheson (UT)
Patrick J. Murphy (PA)
Heath Shuler (NC)
John Tanner (TN)
Boyd is from Northern Florida. I'll be watching him and if there are any shenanigans I'll make sure that everyone knows about it.
