Joe Manchin is off to a rousing start. The new senator from W.VA skipped both the DREAM ACT vote and the DADT vote. Manchin sited the old "family obligations" excuse for missing the votes. I think I'll give that one a whirl on Friday-yes sir, I know I was supposed to work on Christmas Eve but I had family obligations.
Manchin says that he would have voted "No" to both. Maybe. Who knows? At any rate he obviously has the gig all wrong. When trying to avoid creating a record you should always show up and vote "Present".
