Actually, I'm not sure if Bill Maher is a racist or if he is just a loud-mouthed juvenile jerk. He may be a racist loud mouthed juvenile jerk. In any case, he is an obnoxious jerk.
Democrats are obsessed with race, because that was the horse on which they road to victory for so many years. It doesn't work so well anymore -- the world is on to them, but they are so invested in the fraud that they can't bear to give it up.
