Contessa Brewer: "Why can't terrorists be white, Christian tea ba**ers like I want them to be?"

MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer is sad. Referring to the Times Square bombing, she said :

"I get frustrated...There was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country."

Brewer continued, "...There are a lot of people who want to use terrorist intent to justify writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way. I mean they use it as justification for really outdated bigotry."

Well, bummer. It would all have been so much better if instead of the bomber being Faisal Shahzad it had turned out to be Bubba Jones who lives in the trailer park down there behind the Snuf N Stuf. You know the type-works at smelly garage during the day and drinks at the Beer Shed at night. The kind who goes huntin’ and fishin’ on the weekend and attends prayer services and Tea Parties. The kind of person who Contessa Brewer would never subject to “outdated bigotry.” Maybe someone who was a Hutaree, like the nine people arrested in southern Michigan earlier this year.

Speak of which, how’s that Hutaree prosecution working out?

From TBO.com:

During two days of hearings last week before U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts, prosecutors tried to show how dangerous they perceived the Hutaree militia to be by playing secretly recorded conversations. Those talks, however, revealed no specific plot. Under questioning by defense attorneys, the FBI's lead agent on the case seemed unprepared.

At last week's hearing, the FBI's lead case agent, Leslie Larsen, said she was hastily told by prosecutors that she had to testify. Defense lawyers pressed her for information about each defendant, but she said she hadn't lately looked at her reports and couldn't answer many questions.

The judge found her testimony "vague," noting the agent said militia members "may have been planning something."
One assumes that if the Hutaree "may have been planning something" that they also may not of have been planning something. If this is the best that the government can do I have wonder why these people were picked up to begin with. After all, talking smack isn’t typically illegal.

Could it be that the government wanted a white, Christian “terrorist” group so they could say, “See, we told you those crazy rightwingers were dangerous.”?

The Hutaree may be dangerous or they may just be obnoxious but the government’s zeal led to haste and a shoddy case. The American people deserve better from their government than agenda based prosecutions.

Not that I am accusing the current Administration of bigotry or anything.

"outdated bigotry"? Seriously? Try incredibly recent fact grounded in the war that radical Islam has declared against ALL non-Muslims around the world, including here in America. What a freakshow she is.

I guess Contessa would rather engage in current and "updated" bigotry. Liberals, in general, have to redefine the world in order to make it comport with their world view. And their world view is that Islamic terrorists are misguided victims, and the true enemy is either Republican, Conservative, a Tea Party-person -- or a combination of all of the above.

Poor Contessa.

She is completely oblivious to her own bigotry.

I think this might be a symptom of a viral infection spread by too close quarters in the liberal echo chamber.
